How To Switch iPad Keyboard to Thumb Mode
Have you ever been frustrated trying to type with the onscreen keyboard on your iPad or iPad mini while holding it in your hands? It’s a lot easier if you can set your iPad down on a desk and do some standard QWERTY keyboard typing, but if you lack the convenience of a desk or table, there’s an easier way to type with the familiarity of typing on your iPhone or other smartphone. It’s all in the thumbs!
This is how you do it. While holding your iPad or iPad mini, just swipe horizontally from the middle in opposite directions to “separate” your keyboard into a more convenient thumboard. Now you can type with your thumbs. If you tap and hold on the little keyboard icon at the bottom right of the keyboard you can move the entire onscreen keyboard up or down as you find most comfortable. When you want your keyboard merged together again, just “pinch” it together from the outside in. Give it a try for yourself! Follow after the break for a couple visual aids.
